ElvalHalcor’s Aluminium Rolling Division (Elval) recently acquired a state-of-the-art, high-bay storage system from German intralogistics company AMOVA for its plant in Oinofyta, Greece.
“AMOVA is a long-term and dependable partner for Elval, and our new high-bay storage system is one more proof of that," said George Michopoulos, project manager for Elval’s coil high-bay warehouse, regarding the commission. Bern Klein, AMOVA GmbH CEO, said of the two-year collaboration: "Our team of experts worked closely with Elval to ensure the system was customized to their specific requirements and gave them a competitive edge in the market." The successful installation represents an important milestone for both companies, as, with AMOVA's support, Elval has all it needs to continue its growth and success in the years to come.
State-of-the-art technology, including automatic storage and retrieval systems, conveyor technology and warehouse management software are part of Elval’s new high-bay warehouse equipment. The system recovers energy, thus reducing its overall energy consumption, while the optimum operating mode of the storage and retrieval system ensures high-density storage. Elval’s new system is 36 meters high and can store around 360 coils, providing sufficient space to meet the need for increased storage capacity because of its growing output.
