ElvalHalcor’s distinction at the “Diamonds of the Greek Economy Awards 2021”

ElvalHalcor, the leading manufacturer of aluminium and copper products, was selected as one of this year’s “diamonds” of the Greek economy in the “Diamonds of the Greek Economy 2021” Business Excellence Forum, once again earning a distinction. The “Diamonds of the Greek Economy 2021” awards ceremony, organized by New Times Publishing every year, was held on 7th July 2021 at the Galazio estate in Elliniko, Athens.

In spite of the challenges brought about by the pandemic, in 2020 ElvalHalcor remained on a high profitability track, with an increase in copper volumes and a marginal decrease in aluminium, although consumption in Europe dropped by over 10%. Committed to its solid investment strategy and its vision for the Greek industry and drawing on its outstanding and highly specialized human capital, ElvalHalcor managed to once again highlight Greece’s dynamism and potential.

In his brief address at the event, Mr. Spyros Kokkolis, Chief Financial Officer of ElvalHalcor, stated that: “This year has been an important milestone for ElvalHalcor. We successfully concluded a major investment programme of EUR 150 million and launched the operation of our state-of-the-art four-stand aluminium hot-rolling finishing mill (Tandem), the most advanced of its kind in the western world.” Mr. Kokkolis also pointed out that, the day after the pandemic, ElvalHalcor is strategically positioned to grow further by leveraging the increase in demand dictated by global mega-trends in order to leverage increased demand and global trends, the transition to a circular economy, the shift to climate neutrality, the expansion of renewable energy sources and e-mobility.

On accepting the award, Mr. Kokkolis stated: “This distinction is an acknowledgement of our corporate vision and strategy. It is an acknowledgement of our incessant efforts over the years and of the team spirit and commitment of our people, who show a high sense of responsibility and unfailingly support ElvalHalcor’s constant growth.”
