ElvalHalcor and Sidenor renovate the primary school in Limni, Evia as a contribution to the restoration of Northern Evia

Staying true to its strong commitment to always supporting local communities and taking initiatives to address emerging needs, ElvalHalcor is happy to announce the successful completion of the reconstruction of the Limni, Evia Primary School, in the Municipality of Mantoudi-Limni-Agia Anna. This voluntary action by ElvalHalcor is part of the company’s pledge of EUR 500,000 in the initiative taken by Viohalco to support the reconstruction of Northern Evia with an amount of EUR 1,000,000, further to the devastation caused by the wildfires that affected the area in 2021.

Following a long period of intensive work, the Limni Primary School was radically renovated and upgraded energy-wise, offering a pleasant and functional space to students, thanks to the kind contribution of ElvalHalcor and Sidenor and the active involvement of local authorities, which coordinated the project effectively. Among others, the school’s reconstruction project included waterproofing and heat insulation work, special tests and repairs of ceramic roofs, replacement of doors and windows, painting, repairs of bearing structure, and electrical engineering. The project’s supervision, monitoring and management were assumed by Ergosteel, a technical company applying top quality and safety specifications.

The new school year started with the students looking pleasantly surprised as they arrived at their renovated school. We had the pleasure to attend this special event held among the presence of Mayor of Mantoudi-Limni-Agia Anna, representatives of the local authorities together with the School's Administration and educational community, as well as the Parents’ and Guardians’ Board and partners. We expressed our wishes for a prosperous and productive school year to students and teachers.

This reconstruction project highlights the mutual dedication of ElvalHalcor and Sidenor, in supporting the sustainable development of the communities they are active in, as well as in support of their residents’ quality of life. By investing in education and infrastructure, the companies aspire to facilitate the residents’ progress.

The Limni Primary School now has a beautiful and friendly learning environment for its students, parents, and teachers, which will motivate them and aid the area renaissance.
