ElvalHalcor donates a new car to Livadeia General Hospital

Α passenger car was donated today by Halcor, the copper and alloys extrusion division of ElvalHalcor, at General Hospital of Livadeia (GHL) to meet its operational needs.

Mr. Athanasios Tsantilas, Governor of LGH, receiving today the car from the facilities of ElvalHalcor in Oinofyta, Viotia, thanked Mr. Panos Lolos, General Manager of Halcor, emphasizing that: "ElvalHalcor is always close not only to our hospital but also to society, the citizens of Livadeia and their families as the purpose of donating this car is to transport almost daily blood bottles and samples to the National Blood Donation Center, medicines and test results. ElvalHalcor, once again, responded immediately to our request and supported us, so today it is with great pleasure that we receive this new car that will replace the old one which is now out of service."

For his part, Mr. George Mavraganis, Strategic Planning Director at Halcor (ElvalHalcor's copper and alloys extrusion division), expressed the Company's satisfaction to assist the Hospital's operation with the donation of this car and confirmed ElvalHalcor's commitment to continuously support the local community, contributing to addressing both permanent and emergency needs.

ElvalHalcor always stands by the side of the local and wider society, being dynamically "present" in every emergency. A typical example is the Covid-19 pandemic, where it donated EUR 400,000 in hospital equipment and consumables to enhance the National Health System, as well as the donation of two fully equipped ICU beds at the General Hospital of Thebes. To the same hospital, in January 2022, Elval, ElvalHalcor’s aluminium rolling division made a similar donation of a car to cover its operational needs.

At the same time, the Company’s annual expenditure on preventive actions to protect its employees and partners from the pandemic, exceeded  EUR 3.4 million. In addition, after the devastating fires in North Evia, the Company contributes with 500,000 euros to the restoration of the fire-affected areas and the support of their residents.

ElvalHalcor today is one of the largest employers in the local community, where 56% of its employees come from. Indicatively, it is noted that each job in ElvalHalcor creates another six in the total economy in the country. At the same time, according to a recent study of IOBE (Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research), its social footprint amounts to 460 EUR million representing 0.5 of the country’s GDP.
